RHEAGAN HIGGINS
FILMMAKER & ACTOR
FILMMAKER & ACTOR
Rheagan Higgins is an African-American Filmmaker and Actor from the great state of Texas. She is an alumna of Texas State University, where she received an education in Theatre and Film Production and Performance.
She began her studies with the pursuit of becoming an actor and vocalist, but quickly discovered her love for dramatic writing in her first year at university. Since then, she has written and directed two short films and had her play, Water Over Blood, performed at Texas State University's New Works Play Festival.
Taking on the identity of a writer required her to research how to effectively share these stories with the world, which led her to the craft of filmmaking. She aims to use the skills she has acquired over her lifetime to create unique, original stories crafted with intention and elegance.
As a multidisciplinary artist, you can find her in front of and behind the camera, crafting, advocating for underrepresented and BIPOC stories, and, at the core of it all, striving to make art that has impact.
